    Objective of the Training and Placement cell:


    • a. To provide placements to all candidates based on their area of Interest and Eligibility.
    • b. To provide need based training to all students in the areas of technical skills, personality enrichment and Communication through Training Programs, Mock Interviews, Group Discussions, Quiz etc
    • c. To maintain a good Institution-Industry rapport.

    The Placement Team:


    Training and Placements are coordinated by the Placement team of the College which is headed by a Placement Convenor. In addition there are Placement Coordinators for every department who are selected on rotational basis every year. The Placement Convenor, Ms. Geetha Ravi, has been handling the Placements of the College since 2011.Head of the Department of French, she is bestowed with strong people skills which helps her to maintain a cordial relationship with all HR within the Industry.


    The Placement Coordinators have all updated information of their students, their academic performance, contact details, interests etc in a Database. The Placement coordinator counsels, guides and motivates the students of her department towards self preparedness and active participation in the Drive.


    Activities of the Training cum Placement Cell (TCP)


    • Contacting the recruiting companies regularly for campus placements .
    • Conducting Campus Recruitments
    • TArranging Guest Lectures from Resource Persons from Industry to deliver current knowledge to students and faculty.
    • Arranging Industrial visits and Internships to impart practical knowledge and industry practices.
    • Conducting Career Awareness programmes by Industry Professionals.
    • Coordinating the External and In-house Training in the College with the help of a Training Coordinator and the Management.
    • Sending Database of students when requested by the Industry.

    Training Process:


    Every year, the College gears up towards Placements by initiating a week long Placement Training for the Final year Students in key areas such as Verbal Ability, Logical reasoning and Quantitative Aptitude. The Students are split into batches and the regular classes are replaced by the training sessions for a week. The five day training is followed by a Mock Test on the Sixth day along with Mock Interview. This exercise helps the students to assess themselves for further improvement. In addition to the above said External Training, there is a schedule of In-house training in Quantitative Aptitude by the Faculty of the College from the Department of Mathematics, Communication skills by the Faculty of the Department of English and Technical Training by the Major Departments.Armed with this training, the students are ready to tackle Placement drives.


    Placement Process:


    The Placement Convenor maintains a cordial relationship with the Industry and approaches the HR of various organizations through mail and Phone according to the Core departments available in the College. In addition the HR of many Organizations contact the College through the Placement Convenor by mail and Phone to invite the students for recruitment. The College accepts these invitations and arranges for recruitment drives in the College based on the criteria requirements set by the Industry. The Students are informed of the drives and the eligible students register and participate in both On Campus and Off Campus drives. The College places great importance to the recruitment drives and ensures that the Placement drive is conducted in an effective and smooth manner with regards to Infrastructure required and hospitality. The Placement coordinators along with able student volunteers conduct the drive as per plan drawn up by the Convenor. The Offer letters / Letter of Intent is given to the Placement Convenor/ Principal who hand it over to the students. Once the students are selected in Tier 1 companies, they are discouraged from participating in Tier 2 companies so as to enable all students to get recruited.


    In case of any difficulties faced by the student to join the Industry, the Placement convenor contacts the Company HR and resolves the problems and issues. Whenever needed the Placement team also vouches for the credentials of the students during background verification by the Company.
