The College
Alpha Arts and Science College (AASC) is run by the Alpha Educational Society, a non profitable educational body registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. The college, started in the year 1996 is a private, unaided, co-educational Arts and Science Institution approved by the Government of Tamil Nadu with permanent affiliation to the University of Madras. It was upgraded as a Postgraduate institution in the year 2001.
The Alpha Arts and Science is governed by the Management under the able leadership of Dr.Mrs.Grace George, the Chairperson of the College and Ms.Suja George, Vice-Chairperson. A team comprising the President & CEO, Principal and Vice-Principal effectively assists the management in all the administrative and academic matters.
The staff council comprising the Heads of Department assists the Principal in the smooth conduct of day to day functioning. The team of trained and dedicated faculty strives in imparting academic excellence and holistic experience of education to the students.
IQAC
The Institution has an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) established to demonstrate its drive to develop itself into a centre of excellence. The Cell involves itself in identifying various processes that develop capabilities in order to internalize and institutionalize QUALITY so that the institution would strive to excel in serving its students.
The College is making efforts for the best rating by the National Accreditation and Assessment Council (NAAC).
