The SIFE World Cup is a showcase of the impact that SIFE teams are achieving around the world and brings together an international network of student, academic and business leaders. In addition to the competition, events such as the culture fair provide an exhibit of the rich diversity of cultures represented within SIFE. Multiple receptions, lunches and dinners, along with special events such as the Top to Top Forum and Top to Future-Top Forums further enhance the opportunities for networking, mentorhip and idea exchange.

As a part of International Women's Day Celebration More than 300 Girl Students of the Alpha College of Engineering and Alpha Arts & Science College will participate WALKATHON on Beach road from Gandhi Statue to Labour Statue on Friday, March7th, 2008 at 3 p.m.

Alpha Arts and Science College, Department of Biotechnology had organized an International Workshop on "Aseptic and Advanced Microbiological Techniques" from 3/1/08 to 7/01/08. Rev.Dr.Xavier Alphones.S.J. Inaugurated the workshop and delivered the Chief Guest's address. The facilitator of the programme was Prof.Anu Suresh, Project Coordinator, Ohlone Community College U.S.A. Lectures were delivered on recent Aseptic techniques and Hands on training was given to all the participants. A faculty training programme was conducted to all the staff of Bioscience Departments on "Laboratory Managements", 30 students from both Undergraduate and Post graduate Courses from Biosciences Department participated in the training. The valedictory function was conducted on 07/01/08 in which the Chairperson Dr.Mrs.Grace George and Managing Director Mrs.Suja George congratulated the Departments of Biotechnology for organizing the workshop. The Principal Dr.Celestina Jayasingh distributed the certificates to all the participants. The Programme provided a new insight into the Laboratory Management and emerging new jobs in the field of Biotechnology.
