ELUCIDATE-2011.

Welcome to the Third National level symposium-Eluzius’11. This symposium will provide a platform of high-quality forum for scientists and engineers to present their latest research findings of global importance.

ELUZIUS 2011 will be held on October 04-10-2011 at Alpha college of Engineering, Thirumazhisai, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.

Areas Covered:

Papers reporting original and unpublished research results on the above and related topics are
invited for submission not later than September 28, 2011. The Camera-ready version must be
submitted by September 30, 2011(online through mail).

The research papers expected could be of any of the following topics and related ones.

• VLSI
• Digital Image Processing
• Embedded System
• Fuzzy logic
• Micro/Nano-Technology
• Neural networks
• Photonics
• Robotics
• Spintronics
• Bio-metrics.

WORKSHOP on Intellectual Property rights organized by IGNITE of Alpha College of Engineering.

As by saying "Every team work, holds good", the workmanship of CSE & IT, IGNITE association turned out to put on a good show on the workshop on IPR. The students along with the staff worked towards the layouts and arrangements of this workshop held from 10.30 am to 12.45 pm on 10.9.2008.

The Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) workshop was organized for CSE, IT and MBA students for preparing patents for their projects. In his special address Dr. H. Peeru Mohammed, Director, Centre for IPR motivated the students to gain the in-depth knowledge about IPR. Dr. R. Dilli Babu, Deputy Director, Center for IPR delivered the keynote address, Mr. V. Rengasamy, and Mr. R.Devan, Asst Controller of Patent & Designs and Shri. K. Anbudurai handled the sessions. They gave an introduction to IPR initially and stated the rules and regulations to get patent. Various case studies were also presented.

The session helped the students to picturize their goals towards patenting their projects.

ONAM Celebration (10.9.2008)

Onam is the regional festive of Kerala, portraying a wonderful picture of Spring. 'Onam' is simply the hit-tac for the flower orination.

At Alpha the onam Fest began with a cultural tinch of the "Pookalam" competition. This was conducted between all departments a whole which includes CSE, IT, ECE, BME and MBA.

The function commenced at 1.00 pm as per regular agenda. The Malayalam students bubbling with enthusiasm in festive spirit hosted a vaiety of programmes that include group songs in Malayalam, dance and skit. The highlight of the programme was a presentation on what's Onam at Kerala.

The outdoor fest "The Tug of War" which was conducted for boys, girls and the staff brought out the enthusiastic spirit of the students. Thus the Onam Fest came to dusk.

NASSCOM

The alpha College of Engineering had the privilege of hosting the workshop for the teaching faculty from 16th to 20th April 2007 sponsored by NASSCOM. Faculty members form thirty different colleges in and around the city of Chennai had the pleasure of attending this programme and all the participants were awarded certificates on the closing day.

Mr. Surajit Chattejee from Sun Mircosystems conducted the Sun Java Programming language for the faculty. M. Mathew Alexander, the then HOD /CSE of Alpha College of Engineering played a key role in organizing and conducting this programme and make it grand success.

The programme was immensely useful and beneficial for the faculty members who attended the workshop.

Dr.Poongothai Aaladi Aruna, Minister for Social Welfare, Govt. of TN leads the walkathon on March 7th, organized by Alpha Engineering College as part of International Women's Day Celebration.
