DEPARTMENT ACHIEVEMENTS :

The Department Association "Elucidate" is active throughout the academic year conducting various Departmental activities for the benefit of the students.

Many Imminent personalities are invited to preside over the Departmental activities.

The Department conducts Technical Symposium "ECLECTIC".

The Department organized a two day National Conference NCIEE'11 .Resource persons from various fields were invited to judge the paper presentation events.

The Department thrives hard to achieve Industrial exposures to students in the way of Industrial visits, Industry Guest Lectures.

TEACHING METHODOLOGIES :

The College has well-defined and structured means of imparting knowledge to the students through a systematic teaching and learning process, which strives to bring out the best in the students and also in the faculty. The process is continuous, and is constantly monitored and improved.

The college believes that the strength of the institution lies in training the weak students and helps them to realize that they can trust the faculty and Management. With this in mind, the weak students are identified and extra coaching is given to them to bring them up. The advanced learners are encouraged to improve their skills and given opportunities to participate in seminars, group discussions, workshops and symposium at the national level. The college encourages faculty to prepare a lesson plan at the beginning of each semester.

The syllabi are unitized and each unit is planned to be completed within a time frame. The preparation of lecture notes for subject and laboratory manuals are mandatory for each faculty and done in a systematic manner under the supervision of the Head of Department to complete the syllabus well in time. Teaching aids like OHP& LCD Projectors are provided to the faculty to make the teaching and learning very effective.

In addition, the faculty members are encouraged to guide in-house projects at the under -graduate level, to participate in National/International conferences, to use modern teaching aids for improved teaching, to constantly innovate on their teaching through different methods and to take part in other extra and co-curricular activities.

The performance of the Faculty is closely monitored through a systemized feedback mechanism and corrective/remedial action is taken as and when deemed necessary to ensure that the teaching standards are always at high level. Their performance is recognized and rewarded.

The college aims at the all-round development of students and monitors the overall performance throughout the academic year. The academic performance of the students is closely monitored through the conduct of regular cycle tests and the results are communicated to the parents periodically. The parents are apprised of the performance of their wards and are welcome to keep in close contact with the proctors, the Head of Department and the Principal.

The cumulative effects of the above efforts taken by the college have blossomed into a healthy learning atmosphere.

Seminars and Tutorials : Weekly seminars and tutorial group meetings are organized for formal discussions on disciplines related to the curriculum.

Extension Lectures : Noted educationists, scholars and teachers are invited to address the students and teachers on a variety of educational problems.

Sports and Physical Activities : Different sports and physical activities are organized including Annual Sports Day.

Educational Tours and Trips : The College arranges short trips/tours/one-day picnics to various places of historical and cultural interests.

Faculty : Highly qualified, motivated and competent teachers committed to provide quality education to students and to develop their talents and skills to the fullest form.

Teaching Learning Transactions : In order to make instructions effective the following steps are taken :

- A synopsis of pedagogical theory written on the black board and followed by discussion
- Latest references provided after the discussion for further reading
- Self-learning encouraged
- Objective based instructions and evaluation
