To highlight the issue of "Safety for Women"Alpha Arts and Science College organized a 10 km Motor Rally & Walkathon on 6 March 2013  as part of its International Women's Day Celebrations. More than 250 Women Students from Alpha Arts and Science College & Alpha College of Engineering participated in the rally to express their solidarity for the issue. The event was flagged off by Ms. Initha,Deputy Development Commissioner, MEPZ-Special Economic Zone & Dr. (Mrs.) Grace George, Founder and Patron, Alpha Group of Institutions at 10:30 a.m. from Alpha Matriculation Higher Secondary School, CIT Nagar, Saidapet. the Rally which began at the School proceeded via Anna salai to Saidapet Arch. 

The Walkathon and motor cycle rally caught the attention of the public and was extensively covered by various media agencies, as it holds great significance, especially in the light of the recent attacks against women in the country.
