ACTIVITIES
OF THE SCHOOL (2008-2009) :
MAY:
1. The Std. XII
Board Exam results were published. Our students
performed
very well.
2.
Std. X results
Shravanthika Lakshmi has 4
State Ranks:
III rank in State in total
II rank in Science
II rank in French
III rank in Maths
3.
An elaborate training cum workshop was given for
leaders of the school.
4.
Alpha was awarded "ISA" (International
School Award) from
Cambridge, London through British Coucil.
5.
Mrs. Reena Alfred who was selected by Full
Bright Scholarships to be
trained in latest methodologies in teaching and
leadership qualities,
returned successfully after her stay of 5 months
in United States.
JUNE:
1.
Teachers of high & higher secondary school
given orientation in the
new methodologies of hands on experience methods
and activity based learning.
2.
The Millennium school from Singapore were here
for one day class immersion
& interaction with std. XII students.
3.
Students of std. XI were inducted with thanks
giving prayer.
4.
Leaders were elected and Mr. K. Engineer IRS,
Commissioner of Customs
Airport distributed the badges and invested the
leaders with their duties.
5.
Harsha & Nadeem of std. IX took part in the
project exhibition conducted
by Science Olympiad Foundation in Periyar Science
Centre on June 22nd.
They won the I prize for their project of Nano
technology in treatment
& cure of Cancer.
6.
Doordarshan Chennai had a TV coverage of
the school, interviewed
Chairperson, M.D., Principal and telecast it in
sessions on two Saturdays.
7.
Trainers from a special organization called "People
Pro"
are conducting the special value addition classes
to develop the all round
personality of students.
8.
Students liberally contributed used clothes (in
good shape) for Indian
Evangelical Team for an orphanage run by them.
9.
Yoga classes are integrated in the syllabus
for students of std. X
& XII .
10.
MG Thomas interschool culturals was celebrated
with all grandeur.
Debate in English and Tamil, Vegetable Carving,
Rangoli, Indian Semiclassical
music, Western music & Indian folk dance were
the different events open
to schools. Vidyodaya (T.Nagar) won the rolling
shield.
11.
National Innovative foundation called our
students K.Preethi & Atchara
of std. XII who won the I prize in Ignite 2007
for their project "Respirometer"
and Mohan Samuel & Ceefus of Std. XII who
won IV prize for their project
"The cycle on land & water" for
a Press conference in IIT.
12.
The Nature study projects were launched
the topic being "Forest
Eco system Flora and Fauna" for std. VI &
VII " Wet Land Eco
system Flora and Fauna for std. VIII & IX
by showing video clippings and
taking them on field trips.
13.
Vanmahotsav was celebrated as a week long
celebration with the following
activities.
Std. VI - Scrap book on rare trees
& animals in India
Std. VII - Planting saplings with
a quiz on it.

"THE HINDU" Education plus conducted
city wide Talent Search
Test to find city toppers. K. Preethi of Std.
XII won the II place among
the city school students and won a cash prize
of Rs.2,500/- and a shield
for school.
15.
Students involved in charity work collected a
huge amount for the
aged dwellers of "Little Drops".
