Alpha Matriculation School, Sembakkam located on the main road from Velachery to Thambaram, is branch of the well established Alpha Matriculation Higher Secondary School, C.I.T Nagar, Chennai. This institution was established in 2004 with a vision of providing wholesome and quality education in an apt environment. The word 'Alpha' stands for the first letter 'A' in Greek language and it symbolizes our untiring efforts to equip our students to get the best education and to obtain 'A' grades wherever they are placed in life.

Dr. (Mrs.) Grace George, the Correspondent was conferred a Honorary Doctorate in Education by the Corner Stone University, Texas Dallas for her role as a model academician and educationist in july, 1999. She is the Founder & Chairperson of the Alpha Arts & College, Porur and Alpha College of Engineering, Poonamallee, She is the President of the Association of Matriculation Schools in Tamilnadu and Pondicherry, a portfolio she ahs held for over a decade. She was instrumental in framing the syllabus for the Matriculation Schools in 1995. She was the first woman ever to be elected as District Governer for South Indian Region, Y's Men International - Madras District.
